Whitworth University ran to its highest women's cross country finish ever at a national championship meet as the Pirates finished sixth on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College at Highland Park Golf Course. Joy Shufeldt (Fr., Portland, Ore.) and Dana Misterek (RS So., Gig Harbor, Wash.) earned All-America performances to lead the Whitworth women. Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the women's title with 171 points.

Rose Augustin got away from two defenders and put a shot into the lower left side of the goal in the 61 st, minute to give Notre Dame the 1-0 lead that would eventually end Oregon State's historic NCAA women's soccer tournament run Friday afternoon in Notre Dame's Alumni Stadium. It was the only goal in the game that the sent the second seeded Irish to the regional finals. OSU's season concludes with a 14-8-1 record, in the Beavers' first ever advancement as far as the NCAA's round of 16.

Both teams competed very hard with a fair amount of chances both ways   -Linus Rhode

Senior forward Brandon Reichart scored two second-half goals while goalkeeper David Brelsford made them stand up with several key saves as Christopher Dock (20-3-1) won its fourth state title this decade with a 2-1 victory over defending PIAA Class A soccer champion Seton-La Salle at Hersheypark Stadium today.
